Safety & Wellbeing
As adults in Scouts, the safety of young people is our priority. We're committed to:

-
Taking the interests and well-being of young people into account, in all our considerations and activities.
-
Respecting the rights, wishes and feelings of the young people with whom we work.
-
Taking all reasonable practicable steps to protect them from neglect, physical, sexual and emotional abuse.
-
Promoting the welfare of young people and their protection within a position of trust.
The Young People First code of practice (also known as the yellow card) sets out a code of behaviour for all adults in Scouts. Any concerns can be raised to our GSL here
Paying Subscriptions
1st Whitstable Scout Group are a registered Charity and are dependent on fundraising, donations and the regular subscription fees from the young people attending (a proportion of which goes to Scouting HQ automatically).
We use Online Scout Manager (OSM) to manage attendance and provide online payment methods. If you are a parent/guardian and don't have access then please contact us here

Join us...
It is easy to join the Scouts either as a Young Person or if you are interested in becoming a leader, helper or donor.

For Young Persons enquiries please contact us here and we will ask you some further information.
Because we are very popular there may be a waiting list for a young person to be able to join.
Help us reduce the waiting list! Join one of our sections as a Leader or Helper. This is such a rewarding activity and you will be fully supported by the other leaders and the larger Scouting Organisation with any training that you may find useful to fulfil your role. Just contact our Group Scout Leader (GSL) who can fill you in on all you might need to know. Contact Richard Maxted our GSL here
